Thanks everyone who has given me feedback about the recent blog posts. I’m so glad you love it when I match up pattern suggestions with the fabrics and that it’s helping you imagine what to use the fabrics for when planning your own makes.
We just have had a whole bunch of new floral fabrics arrive. Here is the first selection, of course I have added my pattern suggestions for each one.
The new Named pattern collection features this unusual blouse with trench coat style lapels. Make a pretty feminine version in this Spring Serenade brushed cotton featuring birds and flowers.
It is no secret that I LOVE the City trousers from The Avid Seamstress, they are so versatile and can be made in so many fabrics, Mandy stretch cotton sateen is a great dark floral perfect for brightening up a winter outfit.
If you are more of a dress girl then use the black Mandy stretch cotton sateen to make a figure enhancing Charlotte dress and let the pattern do the talking.
This Border print cotton poplin features antique roses on a black background, add to that the quirky spotty border and you could make a fab statement dress using the Mortmain pattern from Gather.
Happy sewing xxx
