These new summer blooms are really brightening up Fabric Godmother this week. With the Chelsea Flower show over for another year, we have found a new way to get some beautiful blooms into your life.
Take your pick from our floral dressmaking fabrics and feel summer fabulous. Ranging from dark florals digitally printed on scuba to cute floral prints on cotton lawn from Atelier Brunette. This summer we have all the floral trends covered.
Hydrangea viscose, large blooms printed on a black background. This light woven viscose with a little bit of stretch is perfect for this summer’s dark florals trend. Make a dress or blouse with this fabric, you will love it (Don’t just take my word for it, Linda who sends out most of our orders, has already made a dress out of this fabric and LOVES it).
The Dahlia print scuba is a dramatic floral, ideal for a dress or skirt with plenty of body. I would love to see this made into a full skirt worn with a simple pink tee shirt.
Anais Anais has a slightly retro feel to it, a light weight cotton lawn perfect for a summer blouse. Or take on the retro vibe and make a tiered maxi dress with plenty of ruffles.
This Camila Embers Olive green viscose would make a fabulous shirtdress. Lightweight, floaty and breathable perfect for warmer weather.
Spring Flower cotton features pretty meadow flowers and butterflies, like a summer’s day. This cotton would make a great shift dress you could just pull on and go.
Mugli viscose is a lovely burnt orange colour that would look great sewn into a swishy skirt. This fabric has wonderful drape and softness to it.
Happy sewing xxx
