If 2017 is your first year considering making a jacket or coat, you couldn’t go far wrong using our Pendleton Style Hunter Wool Mix for a Kochi Kimono from Papercut Patterns. Unconventional? Perhaps, but with a bit of length added it could make the most comfy blanket coat, perfect as secret pyjamas for those chilly autumn walks to work.
Looking for a bit more sophistication? Go classic British with our Bagge Cotton Check and the Sewaholic Robson Trench Coat. Reminiscent of Burberry’s true Brit style. Pair with a chunky scarf and sunnies to complete the look.
If you are feeling Parisian and just want a light jacket for those crisp mornings, the Named Lourdes Cropped jacket would be tres chic in our Diamond Wool Mix in Black. Layer over a winter dress for pure sophistication.
Are you looking to make any men in your life a Jacket this season? There is nothing better than a man in a quality wool coat. We love the Thread Theory Goldstream Peacoat and think it would look so stylish paired with Teck Wool Mix – Purple
For when the mercury really dips, we paired our Tiki Coating with the Colette Walden. Perfect pattern for a luxury gift for your man, or sew it up for yourself as this has the flexibility of being a Unisex pattern.
The Yona from Named Patterns is so reminiscent of so many coats this season, uncomplicated and so wearable. We would team it with our Suzy check for a modern classic in the making. Teamed with a cashmere jumper, ripped jeans and heels for an up to the moment outfit.
Olive and Moss greens are set to be big this season. If Cardigan coats are more your thing, we have The Esme Maxi Cardigan, also from Named accompanying our Check Wool Mix in Bottle. Plenty of stretch for a cardigan and warm enough to wear in these autumn days.
For pure drama, go for the fantastic Sapporo from Papercut. We’re desperate to make it up in our Jude embroidered coating. Dreams of Downton Abbey, 1920’s glamour spring to mind. Such a perfect coat to go from day to night, great to wrap up after all those holiday parties.
