New In Jerseys – Perfect for Jumpers!

These new jerseys will have you all cosied up in no time. We have also picked out some of our favourite jersey patterns for sewing with thicker jerseys. Think jumpers with frills, sweater dresses and longline cardigans, all made with ponte romas featuring embossed detailing or fancy finishes.

FYI: Ponte roma jersey is a heavyweight jersey ideal for making sweatshirts and dresses, it is also a great beginners fabric as it is a stable jersey that won’t stretch out of shape or move about too much when cutting and sewing. Just remember to use a stretch stitch or if your machine doesn’t have one a long narrow zig zag is perfect.

This Floral Design Embossed ponte roma jersey has a sumptuous texture ideal for those of you who crave subtle details on your clothes. Available in Black or Navy, I think it would make a stunning Coco top. This pattern is a great intro to sewing with jerseys if you’ve not tried before.
