Wow, these new faux leathers are really something special. I’ve added a few pattern ideas as people often ask what you can sew with faux leather. The answer is, lots of things…
Want some tips on how to sew faux leather? Check out this blog post where I made a Gold Faux Leather Skirt
The Master Faux leather features a floral bloom that looks like an old Dutch master. I would love to see a Cleo Pinafore pimped up in this floral loveliness. Yeah, can you see it? Paired with a black polo neck and opaque tights it would look so cool.
If floral isn’t your thing then maybe you could see yourself in a pair of navy blue culottes, choose a pattern with simple lines like Mimosa and this Navy Faux Leather which has plenty of drape to it so it will really hang nicely with lots of swing. Now that is cutting edge fashion for you, and trust me you can totally wear this look.
This butter soft plain faux leather also comes in a Teal colour, A simple fit and flare dress such as the Day dress would look really stylish, though I would swap out the gathers for some killer pleats like Lisa has in this Blog post
The Matte Gold faux leather is what I used for my pencil skirt. It is a popular party skirt fabric and easy to make. For added details why not try the Polly skirt with cool panelling and top stitching.
I love the idea of a really simple Laurel shift dress in a knock out fabric and this Silver Matte Leather has all the drama needed to pull of this simple look. The sleeve frills are an added bonus with this pattern!
And no guide to faux leather could be complete without a classic pair of black leather trousers. Pick a simple pattern like the Ultimate trousers, omit the zip and add elastic in the waistband, this Black Faux Leather has a bit of stretch to it so they are easy to just pull on and go.
Happy sewing xxx
